Day 5 - Golf at Miklagard GC - Fly to Evenes
Early start today, awoke to beautiful blue skies in Oslo. Quick breakfast then taxi out to Miklegard Golf Club. By the time we arrived there was a heavy fog, but we teed off at 8am, could barely see the ball but managed ok. It was a shame we didn't really get to see much of the course at that time, only 100m in each direction.
The clubhouse roof is grass!!
The fog gradually lifted and we could see a lot better. Very nice course, fairways were lush and the tiered greens ran well. Some interesting holes, lots of water and trees.
Sean had 29 points and I had 24 points - not bad for our first game
We got round in 3:45 and then headed for the airport to catch our flight to Evenes with SAS. 1.5 hours, very smooth with some amazing views of the Lofoten Islands as we were coming in. It was a very warm 21 degree's when we arrived
Evenes is a VERY small town. There is a US Military presence so not allowed to take pictures at the airport etc.. NATO planes on the ground. There is one hotel and a Bar & Grill down the hill. The room is teeny tiny and like all hotels here they give you 2 doonas.Dinner at the Grill was delicious
Here is a quick update on my bruises, luckily the only pain I really have is my chin and mouth, despite the bruises the rest of me is working well (touching wood). I have spat out a few stitches today so clearly the ones in my mouth are dissolving and I can eat a little bit more interesting food finally!
