Day 4 - Oslo

The overnight ferry from Copenhagen arrived at 10am on the dot. It had been quite foggy on the way up the final passage but that cleared and we arrived to overcast but dry 16 degree's.

Our ferry - much easier than another airport!

We caught a taxi to our hotel which was right in the middle of the city. We left our bags there and headed out for some sightseeing. We started by walking upto the Royal Palace

We then walked down towards the water, seeing the Nobel Peace Museum, the National Museum & City Hall

We kept on walking around the headland in the marine area, there was also an old car meet on which was interesting. The old sailing ships with massive amounts of rigging were also moored there

Our next stop was the Opera House - a very spectacular building. The Munch Museum was next door (he painted The Scream). There were a number of sauna's along the riverfront with jumping/diving platforms for a cold swim - Brrrrrr, no thanks

Stopped for a light lunch then slowly walked back towards our hotel to check in.
There are lots of Trolls here in Norway!!

Parliament House

Another beautiful city, but much more modern than Copenhagen and they certainly don't speak as much English as they did there either. The city is clean, but again slightly less so than Denmark. The road we are staying on has all these large planters which I can only imagine would look wonderful in summer when full of flowers

Dinner tonight, just outside our hotel door was a number of outdoor eateries
Norweigan Cod for me and Carbonara for Sean

We wandered up the street after diner for an icecream (allowed on my current soft diet), while we were waiting we heard a shout and looked around to see a man on a disability scooter flying down the street with his wife hanging on for dear life on the back - it was very funny 😀

Early start tomorrow for golf 🏌
