 Day 3 - Copenhagen.

I have to admit to waking up very sore and stiff after the fall yesterday so we had a quiet morning in our hotel. There were 2 x Rugby games on - Australia v. Argentina and then All Blacks v. Springboks - 2 happy results for us. I managed to eat some yoghurt for breakfast and also some soft pancakes - with over 20 stitches in my mouth, it wasn't easy.

We checked out at 11am, left our bags at the hotel and headed off on the Metro to do the Canal Tour from Nyhavn. The tour was excellent, the guide was very informative and we saw a lot of sights. Copenhagen is truely a young, adventurous, exciting, vibrant city - there were so many people out and about enjoying the sunshine. There is one area near the Royal Palace on the waterfront that has soundstages, food trucks, basketball et... and with a huge underground carpark to accomodate the park area was full of people enjoying themselves.

This factory burns all the waste (they are extremely environmentally conscious) but it also has a ski slope as part of the factory - some of the architecture is amazing.

We got out to the Little Mermaid statue but it was very difficult to get a picture, just managed to get the back of her. There were so many people in the park looking at it - we may go and have a look when we get back to Copenhagen in 2 weeks

The one hour tour was fabulous: I would highly recommend it. There are soooo many bridges to traverse under.

Nyhavn
The Royal Palace

We stopped for some lunch - I managed some Tomato Soup, soaking a bread roll in it until it was soft!!

Back to the hotel to pick up our bags and straight to the cruise terminal to board our overnight ferry to Oslo. The cabin was small but perfectly formed. We sat up in the outside bar for departure, great atmosphere, there was a singer entertaining us - a very nice couple of hours relaxing.

Beautiful sunset from the Ferry. We ate in the Explorer restaurant - I managed some nice Zander fish which was soft and easily eaten. Sean had a lovely steak.

An early night as Internet was limited. Managed a reasonable sleep in very calm waters.
