Day 10 - Ullna Golf Course
Started the day early watching the Wallabies v. Argentina and then All Blacks v. South Africa - neither of us were too happy at the end of those 😢
We headed out to Ullna Golf Club about a 20 min drive, part of our green fees gave us lunch in the club - we both had a nice pulled pork open sandwich.
We knew in advance that there was a big competition on in the morning and that we would be following the field. The competition involved horrendous pin placements - like right on the edge of the green or behind bunkers etc - they called it the Beartrap for Men and the Winetrap for the women. The pro told us that a 9 handicap man had 84 shots....on the front 9!! In order for us not to play those pins meant that a green keeper had to go behind their last group and in front of us and change the pins on every hole before we played it.
Consequently it was a very slow round, but it really didn't matter as Gunter (our playing partner) was great company and the weather was sunny and the course was so scenic. It is rated in the top 10 in both Sweden and Scandinavia. It is a members course with very manicured fairways and super fast greens. They put up the Aussie flag for us which was nice .
We both thoroughly enjoyed our day at Ullna GC. Headed back to the hotel and had dinner there, I had seafood pasta which was delicious and Sean had a burger. Tired and slightly windswept, but had a great day.
Sightseeing tomorrow, after a little sleep in 😴
