Day 9 - Stockholm
Slept like babies and woke up bright and ready to go. NIce breakfast in the dining room then checked the transport options for getting into town. It was a bit of a prolonged process but we got there with the app sorted and set out on 2 buses for the ABBA Museum.
I had pre bought the tickets so we went straight in - what a fabulous exhibition. There is so much memorabilia to see and the music was great.
We left there and stopped for a cool drink and snack by the waterfront. Stockholm is yet another beautiful city with so much water all around it makes for a very scenic view.
We then went to the Vasa Museum. The Vasa was built in 1628 and she sank on her launch in Stockholm harbour - apparently the design was not good and she did not have enough ballast. She was left there and forgotten until 300 years later when she was found and brought to the surface with the hull intact. They brought up 40,000 other pieces as she was very decorative and have restored her. Amazing museum that was built around it, it is climate controlled with dim lighting, all to try to preserve the ship for as long as possible. She is 98% intact.
Once off the ferry we stopped at a great restaurant by the water for a couple of cold beers - they have Corona zero here which was really good. Then we ordered dinner, it was 5pm and we hadn't really had lunch so perfect timing. I had an open Haloumi sandwich and Sean had chicken - really nice
Train and bus back to the hotel for a quiet evening. Back to golf tomorrow (after the Rugby)
