Day 18 - Falsterbo Golf Club to Copenhagen

NIce leisurely start today, breakfast at the hotel then a 45 min drive to the very bottom of Sweden to play Falsterbo Golf Club which is a links course set right on the ocean.

We teed off at 12:10pm, the weather was sunny and 19 degrees at first then we could see some black clouds out to see and over Copenhagen, luckily the rain stayed away but it was very windy so a true test of Links Golf.

They have a brand new clubhouse and buggy sheds here, very nice. As usual everyone asks where we are from and they all say "oh that is a long way away".

The fairways were certainly not immaculate, there was a lot of weeds but considering the weather they would continuously get here they were not too bad. The greens were very fast. We both had 18 points on the front 9.

The new clubhouse
There is a lighthouse in the middle of the property and also a public footpath through the middle with people wandering around!! Particularly bird watchers who were lugging these huge cameras and lens around, they even had their own little shelter at the back of 17.

So close to the ocean

We were tied in scores coming down the last and Sean had a nice birdie and I missed my putt to square the match. Sean had 33 and I had 32 points. I love playing in the wind, it was a fun day. Went in for a quick beer - they have zero beer on tap everywhere here as well as so many other varieties of zero products, it has been great.

Headed off to go over the Oresund Bridge back to Copenhagen. Amazing engineering as it is half bridge and half tunnel. The toll was $108 Aus, so you wouldn't want to do it every day!!

Headed for our Air Bnb which is in the most awesome neighbourhood, even houseboats moored in the canal across the street.

There is a huge shopping centre across the canal with easy walking via a bridge for us, went over there for dinner, shops all still open until ?9pm. Had a nice curry and then headed back to put the first load of washing in the dryer!! (yes, I love doing laundry)

Tomorrow is a rest and/or sightseeing day then 3 more games of golf before we begin the long journey home 😀
