Day 17 - The National Golf Club (Links Course) - Jane's day out!!
Usual start to the morning with breakfast in the hotel. Drove 20 mins to The National Golf Club. There are 2 courses - The Lakes and The Links - we chose the Links.
We met our playing partners on the tee for a 9:50am start - 2 younger guys - Tobias and Niklas. Very personable. Tobias was off 6 and Niklas was off 13. There are PGA handicap charts in the backs of most of the course guides and we have been playing off our correct GA match for every game.
For some reason this course just suited my game and I started well. I had a 4 pointer on the 4th, 11th and 14th as well as 7 x 3 pointers in the round. I had 24 points on the front 9 and 23 on the back - total 47 stableford points 😍 (the most I ever had in the past was 46 at Nudgee about 20 years ago)
The fairways were hard and there was lots of run, the greens were excellent and I clearly had them worked out well today. Sean also played very well and ended up with 37 points. The weather was excellent, 23 degree's, no jumpers required.
We didn't stay afterwards as our playing partners had to go. We drove into Malmo for a look around. This city certainly ahd more of an Autumn feel to it than other places, the leaves on the trees had changed .
We stopped for a late lunch, I had a calamari sandwich and Sean had the pulled pork version. It was a Spanish eatery so the meal came with patas bravas and padrones - very nice. No dinner required tonight.
We drove back to the hotel for a nice shower and a quiet evening. Last game in Sweden tomorrow at Falstebro, then we drive over the Oresund Bridge back to Copenhagen. (If you have not seen or heard about the Oresund bridge have a little google - fascinating)
Interesting fact - the drink driving level here is 0.02. Since they dropped it there has been a huge drop in alcohol related road deaths - a total of 19 only in Sweden last year.
