Day 15 - Gothenberg to Lund (via: Halmstad Golf Club)

Breakfast at the hotel before setting off on a 1.5hr drive to Halmstad Golf Club. A HUGE shout out to Sean who has done all the driving, massive effort 💖. It rained all the way there but just before we arrived the sun came out and it turned into a beautiful day of 19 degree's.

There are 2 courses here, we played the North Course which has hosted DP World Events. Our names were on the electronic board with a 12:00 tee time. This course is rated in the top 10 in Sweden.

The photos on the front 9 look a bit 1 dimensional as it was fairly flat, but the long tee boxes were a feature. The fairways were like carpet, absolutely beautiful and the greens were a little slower than some of the other courses but they were still in amazing condition.

Each hole was surrounded by pine trees, but the fairways were ample and we both played pretty well so there was no need for us to go forraging around in the trees (thank goodness!!).

Half Way House - everyone stops for 10 mins (9 holes out then 9 holes back)

Back 9 was much more undulating, each hole was very different which made it interesting

Another great day out on the course. Had a quick drink then another 1.5 hours to Lund (down near Malmo). Hotel is very nice, we are on the top floor - 14th, with only 4 rooms up here, great views over the local area

It was getting late and I was hungry (maybe a little Hangry!!) and we couldn't eat at the hotel because the restaurant was full with a conference. We drove into town, and a very cute town it is, and eventually found a nice Italian restaurant that could fit us in. I had pear filled tortellini with Gorgonzola sauce and walnuts - absolutely delicious. Sean had meatball tagliatelle which also looked good.

 

Tomorrow we are playing Barseback GC (Ocean Course), very much looking forward to that 😀
