Day 14 - Gothenberg
No rush this morning, nice breakfast then headed out for some sightseeing. Our first mode of transport was the ferry.
Gothenberg was a very busy trading port initially and there is still clearly of lot of shipping business up and down the waterways. It is also now a hub for IT and Education, with multiple University Campus around, and lots of young students too. It is the 2nd largest city in Sweden after Stockholm. We got off in the city centre and just wandered around looking at the sights.
City Ferry stop
The city centre was similar to other places we have visited, but there was a lot of construction and building going on at the waterfront area. The weird red building is the Lilla Bommen building
We hopped on a random tram and went for a ride out into the suburbs, then once back in the city stopped for a nice lunch (fish again - yum!!)
We then got another tram to the botanical gardens and had a little wander, they have a small zoo, but we only got as far as the sea lions.
Back to the hotel mid afternoon for some R & R - we have 4 games of golf in a row now so needed to rest up. Still full from lunch so just a snack for dinner. Tomorrow golf at Halmstad 🏌
